Asylum applied for in 2002 and refused, appeal lodged but then moved and didn't keep up contact with solicitor - don't know what happened to it. Remained in uk.

Met partner 2 years ago and they want to have get married to have a family but want to make sure they can stay with in the uk.

Does the refusal and appeal forbid under immigration law approval for spouse visa?

Is there any other way to ensure they can stay together? Any advice greatfully recieved

The refusal of asylum will not affect a spouse visa application on its own.
It is only possible to get married outside the UK.

daisy77, Its still possible to get married in their country of Orgin and apply for entry clearance from there to come back to UK on 2 year spouse visa provided that its safe to return to country of orgin and also providing all the supporting documents to their visa application.
