Child settlement visa.

See also sole responsibility.

Thanks Vinny,
could you please suggest me in simple words what exactly sole responsibility, is they interview the child about whether he is interested to join us etc?? the child doesn't know any thing about past.
on child settlement visa can we apply for ILR in the future?
sorry If I am asking questions that are more silly as I am always confused with these Visas.
Thanks once again for your information.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum. Most of my friends told me about this is one, and is the best place where i can get the help regarding the immigration and other stuffs. And yes it is, I hope I can also get help from here.

This is my situation.
I got my British passport last month. My wife is having ILR since 2012. I want to bring my son(stepson) from India. He is 14 years old now. We just waited for my passport to arrive. She got the sole responsibility of the child. So in order to bring him to the UK what all documents I need to submit.will he eligible to apply settlement from India itself or he need to come on a dependent visa.

Also, will there be any effect or complication in the process, because, in his(my son's) Indian passport, the fathers column name states my wife's first husbands name.

Help needed.

Thanks

Letter from me about taking responsibility.
Is this a letter from the Court?

Thanks Amber for your reply.
Yes, me and wife has a similar letter/ document from the Court in India in which it mentioned about my role however I am going to check the document once again.
one more question, my tenancy is includes with bills as I am moving next week, and i dont have letters on this address as Iam now in shared accommodation n family in india.so tenancy agreement, letter from landlord about bills included and no objection certoficate from my landlord can be OK,please suggest me.
Thank you very much.

You need to show you can adequately accommodate the child.
