EEA Family Visa Questions and Doubts

Hello everybody,

My name is seb, im looking for some advice in regards to the EEA family permit. I've read the FAQ's and it all seems pretty clear, but im still double checking with the experts.
I'm an Ecuadorian national married to a French citizen and have been living in France for about 3 years. We are currently considering moving to the UK, and would like to make a visit in february to look around and start browsing for flats and possible job offers. We don't know how long our visit will last, and for this reason i don't know what to put in the online application regarding dates. I had read in an other post that you don't have to be absolutely specific on this matter, but maybe im wrong and our trip needs to be absolutely clear to the Uk visa services. I'm speaking about a couple of questions like, what is the intention of your visit? or how long do you intend to stay in the uk? as i've no idea yet but have to book the online appointment and can'y leave empty cases.
Any help and guidance is highly apreciated!

Don't worry too much about the dates, because if you are applying for a British Tourist Visa, it is valid for 6 months, so even if you put 2 weeks holiday ( Depending on how much money you have in your account) There will still give you a 6 months Visitor visa . When it comes to purpose of visit just stick to holiday, do not mention that you are looking for accommodation or thinking of relocating etc , you will be hanging yourself. British embassy are tough for nothing when it comes to giving out visa. Hope this helps.

When you speak about a "british tourist visa" i suppose you're referring to the EEA permit? which from what I understand is also issued for 6 months, with 3 moths of initial right of residence, which means that an EEA national does not have to be exercising a treaty right immediately on arrival in the UK.

Also, after you mention "depending on how much money you have in your account". From what i've read, this is how it goes:
"If the applicant is the spouse/civil partner of the EEA national or a dependant child of either the EEA national or their spouse/civil partner is under 21 then they do not need to provide evidence of financial dependency and therefore this should not be requested from the applicant."
So i shouldn't be obliged to show any form of financial evidence in order to get the EEA permit.

Now finally what I believe are the documents needed when presenting yourself in the british consulate are:

*the EEA national's original passport or identity card, or if this cannot be provided (for example, because the EEA national is already in the UK) a copy of the EEA national's passport or identity card, endorsed by the EEA national's embassy in the country in which they are resident or present at the time of application

*Proof of your relationship to the EEA national (for example, your birth certificate or marriage certificate)

*A letter from the EEA national, declaring that you are travelling with them or are joining them in the UK.

Does anybody know if im missing anything here? Like you said amaguti the british embassy is always tough on these type of matters.
