if your appeal is in process you are living in the UK lawfully,(no detention can take place until a negative outcome comes out) get some experienced lawyer to call on the number that you see the letter ''Liable to detain'' it is always misinterpret and delays in updating one details on their system, you get a different answer if you give them another call, you in normal circumstances provide the evidence that your appeal in process that can be obtained from tribunal service explaining them the situation, you can include the statement that shows money(fee) to have been taken out by tribunal for appeal purposes.
you are not liable to detain if your appeal is in process regardless of if you do go as they ask, or speak to them over the phone. you need a professional who understands the relevant law and that is it.
thanks,

I think I have received a same sort of letter.

I am thinking of going to see my solicitor. I spoke to him today but I was not able to show him the letter as it arrived after I left in the morning.

He said not to worry, just go there for signature. My question is the same : what if they detain me there and then only. I don't mind leaving the country but for that I need a decision from the court.

If any advice please do let us know.

Thanks
