Hi seniors ,

I have shown 9200 pounds for a consecutive 50 days in my bank account (25th november to 12th jan , though they will consider 28 days only).But after i paid the university fees on 13th of jan my account balance slipped below 9000 pounds to be specific it became 8000 pounds and after 3 days i deposited another 1200 pounds to bring balance up on 9000 pounds and will keep it in my account till i get the visa..I will get my cas within a day and will apply for the application arounf 24-25th of jan.

My question is .

1) Does it is going to effect my maintainence points .?

2) what can be the best solution according to u . ?


please reply , visited 100's of websites but not able to find a specific answer.

On the ukba website it is mentioned that if i pay the fulll fee or first year fee .. den i have to show the maintainence amount only .
My university is loacted in inner london and i have maintained living cost balance of 9 months i.e = 9000 pounds .
After maintaining the minimum balance for 28 consecutive dayds ,i paid the first year fee of university .after that my balance slipped to 8000 pounds and after that i deposited 1200 pounds to bring that balance to 9000 pounds.

I will be maintaing that balance till i will get the visa.

I am maintaing minimum balance i.e 9000 pounds from 25th novemner 2013 -- 11th jan 2014 . I also have the balance certificate from the bank on 11th of jan and the closing balance on 11th of jan was more than 11.500 pounds.
is it going to effect my points on maintainence funds ..?

So if you have to maintain £9000 in your account for maintenance fund then during that 28 days it can not be dropped below 9000 pounds.

Can I ask you why you need £9000 as your maintenance fund? Are you applying from outside UK? Or you do not have any academic progress in last 6 months? Or are you coming back from PSW?

I am just asking to find out whether you need less money for your maintenance fund.

Overall my question can be rounded like..

I maintained the minimum balance for 28 days den i get a bank certificate .. after dat i pay the college fee and get a cas letter.
Everything i will be doing after 28 days and no more den 1 month before the date of application.
so is it going to effect maintainence points ?

Coz after paying the college fee it just dropped and i was not able to deposit money on time.

Please see the following information from UKCISA's website >

Your financial documents must show that the full amount of money that you need has been in the account for 28 consecutive days up to the date of the closing balance. This means that the account must not have dropped below the amount that you need to show at any time during the 28 day period. If it does your immigration application is likely to be refused.

Now you mentioned you have the right amount till 12th January. Can you get a statement issued on 12th January? If you can get that one, you will be able to submit your visa application with that statement. But any statement later than that day your visa will likely to be refused.

As your bank statement is not more than 31 days old from the day you are applying for visa (which I assume is 25 January) so I do not see any problem in that.

Before issuing your visa University supposed to check your bank statement. So send them your statement of 12 th January.

I have taken the bank statement from 25th of november - 12th of jan ..on the bank letter head with appropriate signs and logo and I have also taken a balance certificate as on of 12th jan which it clearly indicated that closing balance was more den 11,500 pounds.

so I think i should submit the following documents.

1) Bank statement from 25th november - 12th of jan ( or i have to submit the bank statements from 2th of jan - to the date m applying for visa OR the only 28 day balance )

2) Balance certificate as on 12th of jan .


Let me know if i need sumthing else from the bank statement side , My bank manager is ready to issue that .

or do i need to show that bank statement was also taken on 22nd of jan .?

Date factor is the big issue in here. You have to show your bank statement till 12 January otherwise on the next day your money is dropping below the right amount.

Yes you can show your Bank statement even if you are applying for visa on 26 January. As long as the bank statement is not more than 31 days old you can present that one with your visa application. You have to keep the money constantly till you get the decision.

So do not worry make your application, it will be fine. And best of luck with your visa application.

I have no problem in takin bank statements for any period ( Bank is ready to provide me statements for any periods ).
Now the question is i have bank statements from 25th november 2013 - 12th jan 2014 . Branch manager gave me the bank statements for this period on 22nd of jan , so on the bank statement automatically 22nd jan was printed.

I mean on the top right side of the bank statement date is printed 22nd jan 2014 coz on that day i took the bank statement for 25th november - 12th of jan ).
does that print date is going to create a problem ..?

Please submit the bank statement which is printed with the date 12 January. Did you take any statement on 12 January? You can just submit that one. You can take a bank statement on 25 January for the period you mentioned but you made some transaction between 12 to 25, so when High Commission make the inquiry they will able to find it and may refuse your visa.

But actually i am getting confused.


I have taken bank statement from 25th november to 12th of jan... The bank statement doesnt show any transaction after 12th of jan.
but i have taken bank statements from 25th - 12th of jan on 22nd of jan ( i went into the bank on 22nd of jan and i asked them the bank statements from 25th nov - 12th of jan..bank gave me the statements according to me , but the issue date or the printed date on the top right side is 22nd of jan )
I have not taken any print outs on 12th of jan.

I HAVE TAKEN THE BANK STATEMENTS FROM 25TH NOV - 12TH OF JAN .( the bank statements doesnt show any transaction after 12th of jan .. But on the top right side of the letter head date is written 22nd of jan. )
