This a minefield.. some advice would be fantastic

Post by murdojoh » Fri Jan 24, 2014 2:30 pm

Hi there people,

My wife and I live in scotland.. we have friends in India.. one of our friends children is 10 years old and we would like to try and apply for a visa so that he can come here and live with us and study in scotland.

Does anybody know which kind of visa to apply for and what kind of things can we do in order to help the application

any help would be great as we would like to give this little boy a good opportunity.

Unless you mean he is coming to study at a fee paying school, there is no such visa.

Not if the adoption is one of 'convenience as a means to facilitate the child's admission or settlement to the UK'

tread with care.

well actually given the families current situation, the primary reason for adoption would not be to facilitate entering the UK.. if there are other reasons then could the grounds of admission be explored?

I know its a grey area but what do you think.

I think you need to read the wealth of information available on inter country adoptions, and seek legal advice from a competent professional.
