The Unmarried Partner Visa was originally introduced for couples whose national law didn't allow divorce. The Philippines for example.
This was later extended to all unmarried couples who could prove co-habitation for at least 2 years. You shouldn't have a problem with your application as long as you have strong evidence that you've been living together for the required period and meet all the other conditions such as finance and accommodation.
I'm assuming your fiancee has legal status in the UK?
