Annual leave and UKBA

Post by Ellie_84 » Wed Feb 05, 2014 9:12 am

Hi! :)

I want to go to annual leave to my home country for 6 days. This is my first holiday since I got my tier 2 visa.

My company knows that I am going outside the UK. Do they also need to notify UKBA that I will be out of country for 6 days? Thanks!

Not really.

Per the Tier 2 guidance, as long as you are in the UK for 180 days in any given year (counting from your date of entry), you are okay.

Thanks! :)

One more question: do they need to produce any letter saying that I am on holiday for me to show in airport? Or it is not required at all? Thanks!

I have traveled in and out of the UK about a dozen times in the last 8 months (mostly for work, and for a holiday once). I have never been asked any questions or been asked to produce a letter.

Having said that, for your peace of mind, you may want to get a letter from your employer and keep it handy, just in case.
