Entry refused at heathrow

Post by saddy123 » Thu Feb 06, 2014 12:37 pm

Hello
I am a international student who had Tier 4 student Visa from 2012 to 2013 and with a biometric residence permit issued on 18 march 2013 valid till 28 feb 2014 . I have completed my master Course at well know university Middlesex in north London .I had gone out of UK in Jan 2014 and had just 1 mount visa left. When I reached Heathrow airport I was told that my sponsorship from university had been withdrawn on 3 oct 2013 and subsequently my leave to enter was curtailed as well .So I had to return back home to India on next day .I had gone to united kingdom for getting my degree certificate as I had completed it and university did not sent it within 6 mouths notice period starting from July 2013.i need it because it need it for job application in India .and my only purpose of visit uk was for to getting my certificate this time with no intention of overstaying here as i had just few days left on visa that's what i had thought before leaving for UK .Now I have couple of question regarding my recent ordeal at Heathrow .

1)My passport has this black cross 'X' on back side what does this mean ?
2)have i breached any immigration laws ?
3)How will it effect my future travel to UK and other European countries ?
4)can i apply again sometime in future for a valid entry clearance from British embassy ?

can someone with knowledge on these points clarify about this matter would be highly appreciated

with regards
sadat

1. It means Entry Clearance officers/ immigration officers will need to look and investigate further your reasons for travelling to UK in the future.
2. Yes, as you try to enter UK without permission as your visa was curtailed.
3. It just remind to them that you were refused entry before n UK. And so they are likely to scrutinize you a little bit more. But if everything is in order and you can explain and satisfy ECO you should be fine.
4.Absolutely, but prepare for very tight scrutiny.

It's a disaster and you have destroyed all your immigration history. Now, its really hard for you to get any UK visa in future, except some very special circumstances.

Having sticker on your passport does not mean you have valid visa. You actually tried to enter in UK without visa. Whatever your intention was, but for UKBA, you are the person who try to get into UK without visa for some purpose. And, I don't think their is any issue with EU visas if you try in proper way, but UK visa will be waste of time and money.

I wouldn't use the word DESTROYED This could be a genuine mistake on the part of the poster and you cannot really come to a conclusion like that.. We are only human and we all make mistakes!

If you complete your course 60 days before you have supposed to complete your course, then your Tier 4 sponsor have the responsibility to report you to the UKBA that your course has been completed before the date which they had stated on their CAS. So based on that reporting UKBA usually issue a visa curtailment letter which you supposed to receive.
