No Recourse to Public Funds - Exceptions

There appears that people with NRTPF visa status can claim some public funds after all in certain circumstances.

The article below suggest that if you have been granted LTR under Zambrano or EX1 and live with the British child then you can claim child benefit, carers allowance etc.

Interesting and would like to know if someone has actually made a claim under this circumstances.

I've recently directed someone to this - see here (click). you must request a change to your BRP rather than just claiming public funds.

Thanks Amber this is brilliant however the I think the law regarding the exceptions rule is great and HO only confirms it. What that means is that someone may wrongly classify someone as NRTPF even tho the person is genuinely in need of such funds.

You have to request generally unless you stipulate destitution when you apply.
