spouse visa financial requirement

Post by klizs82 » Sat Feb 08, 2014 3:52 pm

Hi,

I am currently only working part time and am obviously no where near meeting the financial requirement for sponsoring my husband to come and live in UK with me. My question is, if I got another job with salary around £14,000 and kept my part time job, with salary of £5,200, would I be able to prove income in 6months time and then apply for the spouse visa or would I have to wait 1 year as I'm in new employment?

Thanks in advance

You could apply under Cat A after 6 months so far as you meet the requirements as specified in Annex FM 1.7 (click).

As soon as you have worked in the 2nd job for 6 months you can use Cat A.
If you earn 18,600 in total for last 12 months once you start the 2nd job you can use Cat B - sometimes a month or 2 quicker than waiting to use Cat A.
