life in uk test

Post by Crazyhorse68 » Sun Feb 09, 2014 1:03 pm

Hi All
I have given a Dlr extension recently 3 years as a unmarried partner.
When I apply for ILR .Do I need to take an English test?
Or just life in UK test.
I'm bit confused about that any one with valuable information.
Regards.

Yes,you will also need to take English language test in speaking and listening at a minimum level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or higher. The are exceptions one example will be if you have UK degree.

MY previous post i was looking for requirement for British citizenship so disregard it. This document say that you are in one of the exempted group for ILR.

Refugees and those with humanitarian will continue to be exempt from the
requirement in recognition of their continued need for protection. For the present we will
continue to exempt those granted discretionary leave (DL), although we will consider this
further and keep this position under review.

Do i understand this correctly?
If a spouse enters uk with a bearly pass mark ( A 1 )
then they will have to take another Test at a bit higher B1 level along with the life in Uk
and all that just before the EXTENSION after being in UK for 2 and half years....

That may mean just study study and more study ...and submitting visa
they are all full time activities....
when do we get to live our lives ?
