Husband ILR and wife pbs dependent - education benefits?

Post by s0787671 » Mon Feb 10, 2014 10:45 pm

Hi

I am on tier 2 general visa and am eligible to apply fir ILR on or after 20th sep 2014. My wife who would have completed 1y 10 months on PBS dependent visa. So she will have an extension for another 3 y.

So my query :

My wife wants to do Bsc nursing in dundee, scotland. And I am not sure whether she can get any fees waived off as I have an ILR.

Please do shed some light on this matter.

Thank you
Bharat

I am not sure how that helps.

So if my wife gets a PBS dependent extension for remaining term , she will not have any support to public funds.

But next year I will be eligible to get my UK passport, isnt it. Then can I that may be allow her to move on ILR visa ?? or does she still have to complete 5 years even if I become UK citizen.

She has been in UK since 2009, as she was here as a masters student and had her post study work visa and in 2013 jan she moved on to PBS dependent visa.

If she only became your dependant in January 2013, then she is subject to the 5 years requirement as a PBS dependant before before being eligible for ILR.
