getting married

Hi everyone i am new to the forums,
I have been here on my student visa for nearly 3 years now and last year i met and fell in love with a uk citizen, we have lived together for 7 months and we are planning to married in a few weeks time. On monday this week we went to the registry office to do our notice of intent to marry and on tuesday morning we had immigration knocking on the door saying that i had not attended college (the college had closed down) and that i had sometimes worked more than 20 hours per week, they arrested me and took me to a police station but i wasn't even there 5 mins before they released me without any charges at all. They said to go ahead with the marriage and get the paperwork sorted and i have 60 days to do this (we get married in just over 2 weeks) we are pretty sure that they thought this might be a sham marriage which it definitely is not as one of the immigration officers said to the other under his breath that "this isn't a sham marriage" the question i have is is what do i do about my spouse visa once i have the wedding certificate.
