Tier 2 Long Term Migrant Staff to Tier 2 General

Dear Expert,
I have Tier 2 Long Term Staff migrant Visa and currently working in UK as Business Analyst for a IT firm. I have got a new job and the employer is ready to sponsor the visa.

However, I would like to have clarifications to the followings.

1. Can I apply for Tier 2 general visa from another employer?

2. If so, do I need to go to home country to change my visa from
Tier 2 ICT Long Term Migrant Staff TO Tier 2 general?

Original Situation:

> On Tier 2 ICT Long Term Migrant Staff visa

> Visa valid till 14 Jan 2015

> Date of first entry in same category of visa : 17 APR 2013

since your initial T2 ICT leave was granted under the rules after 6 April 2011 unfortunately you cannot switch to T2G in-country. To change to T2G you would have to return to your home country and apply for entry clearance from there after the 12 month cooling-off period has passed.
