Hey would really appreciate some of your sound advice on the following matter:
I am a UK citizen and my boyfriend lives in Algeria, we originally hoped he could come on a general visit visa during his month's holiday from work to see me here. He got rejected from a General Tier 1 visit visa because my permanent job and greater salary apparently mean that he does not have enough proof of motivation to return to Algeria afterwards. There is not much we can do about this - he does not have strong financial or family ties there and my ties to the UK are much stronger (better job, savings, long rental contract).
Therefore I wondered whether he could come over on a Tier 4 student visa to improve his English for a month or longer. My concern is that he will be refused again for exactly the reason he was refused before - that he is high risk because of his lack of ties and that they might find the motive of his application difficult to believe since it was only in response to a general visit rejection. We are both serious about him studying here - in fact I'd already wanted him to do this if he visited. There is no problem funding his course and living expenses.
What do you think? Is there much point in him applying?
Thanks in advance, any advice would be much appreciated
