According to TNT website, my passport was supposed to be delivered on 9 July between 8 AM and 8 PM, but around 18:20 TNT silently, without notifying me, changed the delivery date to Monday 12/07 on the tracking website. (I had a script refreshing the website every minute) I immediately went onto the tracking website and changed the delivery date to Saturday 10/07 instead, hoping I can outsmart them. Then Saturday 10/07 at 10:45 was the only time I received a text directly from TNT saying "Your HM Passport Office item(s) are scheduled for delivery today", I didn't receive it on 09/07.
Passport received: 10/07/2021 14:43 The delivery guy delivered it straight to my flat and handed it to me, rather than leaving it in my mailbox or with the reception, this doesn't happen with most deliveries.
Documents: waiting
The documents were sent sometime between last Friday evening and Sunday evening, which is when I saw that the TNT website has added another shipment upon entering my passport application number.
According to TNT website, the parcel was scanned twice at the Fedex depot in Barking (Fedex has bought TNT), Tuesday and Wednesday very early in the morning, but was not picked up for delivery any of those days. I was only notified by EMAIL today (Thursday) morning at 8:17 AM that the parcel would be delivered today by 8 PM.
My conclusion is that TNT Secure Delivery does not mean fast delivery, and I believe it would have been a better choice for me to include a Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope for document return instead of paying £5. It probably would have been faster even if they used standard 2nd class post. But it doesn't matter anymore.
My naturalisation + passport journey is finally complete after almost 10 months. Thank you for reading and good luck!
