I will update this as ours is a bit more complicated as my daughters application is being processed alongside mine, and it is complicated further as her father is not in the picture and has been missing since 2018. Additionally we had a bankruptcy in the states in 2015 which we openly declared, which should be outside the good character requirements as it was not in the UK.
