They confirmed they have my certificate and allowed me to book the ceremony even without a HO or ceremony invitation letter and confirmed HO reference needed was my application number.

For anyone still waiting, I would recommend contacting your MP (they approved my application a couple of weeks after this), raising a complaint and emailing furthernationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk. It seems some people are just not getting any approval emails so you can also try to contact your council directly.

Receive a "duplicate" citizenship ceremony invitation today (07/06/2022) which most definitely the first I received. 3 weeks after I already attended the citizenship ceremony because I contacted the council directly. For those still waiting, my advice is above on how to go about following up. Clearly the case workers / the HO systems are not sending out approvals/invitations as they should.
