I did an enquiry on 02/04/16, and received an email to the effect that I had to book an appointment, I responded that I had already had my appointment, and then received a series of phone calls from HMPO, and it sounded as though my application was 'lost'. They said they would look into my application. After no further response, I called on 08/04/16, they 'could see my application, but it wasn't ready', when I asked if there was a problem, they said 'no, it just wasn't printed yet'. I then received the SMS on 09/04/16, so I hope I will have my passport by the end of the week. It's been a long journey!

Overall I am happy with HM passport office service. a few things to share
1. Please keep your signature in the middle of the box (better and safe to do so, because my application was returned due to the signature was too close to the edge, btw, it was still in the box ,just close to the edge)
2. Don't have to wait for the interview letter to book the interview. If you are in a hurry, just call the adviceline and ask if you can book the interview already.

Original Indian passport and British citizenship registration certificate posted to Peterborough office by Royal Mail next day delivery. RM goofed up and delivered late by a day, had sent the post to some other distribution centre in another part of the country erroneously which had me very worried. No delivery sms acknowledging receipt received from Passport office yet however- regretting applying online already as I thought processing child application would have been quicker so at least would have received documents back by now. Really should have gone for 1 week fast track service.
