Date application received by IPS: 29/7 (didn't receive sms, I checked via gov website 'passport application tracker' although it says to check after 3 weeks of application. The email stated the application was received in Durham Passport Office on 29/7.
Location of IPS Office involved: Durham
Date of return of documents: 10/8 (dated 6/8)
Date of receipt of interview letter: 10/8 (dated 6/8)
Date of Passport Appointment: 12/8. [On 10/8 I called at night and left my phone number and name for them to call me back. On 11/8 I called at 8 am and got a next day interview in London Victoria. About 9 am, someone from the passport office called me (London number) to return the phone call I left last night. I was surprised they indeed called back.]
Date of sms received: 13/8

Do you remember which IPS you sent your application to I mean address on your envelope. My application was sent to Liverpool IPS by post office check and send service and was received on 3rd of Aug and I haven,t got any response so far but another forum member king442 applied on the same date has already got his passport. So I think different IPS's are taking different times depending on there busyness level.

We sent our documents in one envelope. Each received an interview letter. Each received a letter with supporting documents returned, via special delivery but no signature was required for delivery through mail slot.

On 25/07 Received letter dated 22/07 from HMPO that pictures does not meet the requirements as the background is too dark but i used same background for naturalization application and was no problem. So i sent them new current pictures on 27/07 and received by them on 30/07.

I called them on 05/08 to find out if they have accepted my new photos, they said it is and my application on interview stage already and i can book an appointment for the interview if i want to even i have not received the interview letter. So i booked the inter view for next day. Lady at interview was very nice and polite, they only interview you make sure that you are the right person and this is not identity theft and also make sure that your name spells right and date of birth etc etc. Anyway when i came back home and i checked my post and found interview letter and also my documents returned separate.

On Friday 07/08 in the morning i received text message saying: "YOUR NEW PASSPORT SHOULD ARRIVE WITHIN A FEW WORKING DAYS. KEEP IT SAFE. REPORT ANY LOSS AT http://WWW.GOV.UK. YOUR SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS WILL BE RETURNED SEPARATELY".
I don't know if this text message means is that my passport is printed ??? or this is a formal text message after the interview ???

Final Update!!!
I've received my passport on Monday 10/08/2015.

I sent the applications to Durham HMPO, I think it will take a time because I sent my child's application too.

Lucky you! I'm on 37 working days now and I still don't have mine. Good news is that they managed to retrieve it from the address they mistakenly delivered it to, I've been told I'll have it very soon.
