Thanks for your reply Mandyr. I was planning to attempt to send my docs on a hardback envelope but I gave up after reading other members' comments. It seems that the passport officer will fold the certificate regardles of any covering letter or envelope. I wouldn't mind really getting a replacement certificate but the price is really high. I will do my best to flatten it as much as I can. Thanks!

I feel your pain. When I used the Check and Send service and had specially put all our forms and certificates neatly into an A4 envelope, the post office woman took them out, folded the certificate, and posted them in the HO issue envelope.
When the HO returns your documents, they fold the certificate so that it will fit into the standard envelopes they use for document returns. I was also frustrated, as our certificates were quite wrinkled when we received them back, and it's taken so long (and so much money) to get them!

I am feeling bit frustrated as I had sent my appliction on 13/09 and Passport office had requested for additional documentation i.e ILR of my wife.

After submitting those, its been a week and still they say the same answer as 'Continuing Checks'.

My application is also held up due to my wife's checks. It is from Durham passport office. Wish, I could have sent to another IPS directly without using passport check and send.

We have travel plans on 1st week of November which I had planned exactly 6 weeks from the date of application.

Hope they process fast looking at all other passport timeline.
