I don't know and don't want to create any rumor about new approvals. I was just answering the above person's question on the contents of the email received.

To avoid any confusion, It will be better to also inform if you had got the approval letter any time prior to receiving this affidavit email and when ?
We did not receive the approval letter but the email says that an approval letter was sent out. Also, today they have clarified via email that the application reference number in the email for statutory declaration is generic and we should use our own application number in the statutory declaration. So at this stage, we are assuming that the approval letter was probably lost in the post. If it wasn't for the new affidavit process then we may not have found out about the approval because the email responses to our queries have been quite generic for the last 1 year and, with the application pending for almost 3 years, we weren't quite sure what the issue was.

Pls when did you apply?

This is as strange as it can get. Do you mean that you got few 'Your application continues to be processed' mails whereas the application might actually be approved ? If the letter can be lost, application reference number can be incorrect, what good an email id is to them ? Don't want to miss few beats thinking of email ids could be mistyped too. Until now I had thought that email response whatever extent copy paste it may be, will at least tell if application is approved or in process, but you broke that myth too...Anyways, congrats buddy on being out of this waiting game !
UPDATE: Just received the approval letter which is dated late January. So we actually got the email before the approval letter which seems to have taken some time to come through. Happy that the 3 year wait for our family is finally over. All the best to everyone else waiting.

To your question: Last email we got was in early January when the application reached the 3 year wait stage and at that time we received the email that application continues to be processed. Same as every time before that.
Can you please share when did you applied and when did you exactly receive the approval, because on the 8 of February I will be 3 years since I applied for my naturalisation, so they are supposed to bring my naturalisation before 22 February of this month

Reg : Application Reference Numbers on email who got to affidavit to submit

In the e-mail issued to you on Friday, a generic Citizenship application
number was included in the advice on submitting passport photographs. To
clarify, you should write your own Citizenship application number on the
back of the passport photographs you submit.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Is anyone sending photos for a second time with the affidavit? I mean people that got approved last year and sent the fee and photos already.

They asked me only for the declaration and colored copy of my passport, and now wonder if they missed to write them or they decided to make an exception and use the old ones (sent 1 year ago).

There is no harm sending the photos as. Photos should be taken within six months. Now they may relax this condition for the period. But why risk further delays in case they request for it again later

Hopefully I get the statutory letter any time from now. The long wait is overdue but I have no other choice than to wait endlessly.
I submitted my application since Dec. 2017 and has been on the waiting list ever since.
Fingers crossed. I cant wait to get over the line.
Best of luck to everyone. :D

Anyone here who got approved and paid the fee in jan/feb 2020 still waiting on affidavit to be emailed to them like myself :/ ?
I know they said “phased” basis but it’s disheartening to see that there is no order to this at all when people only newly approved since October have started receiving theirs. Happy for everyone who does, just sucks waiting so long and nothing still...
Hi Everyone,
Yes I got approval letter back in February 2020. I submitted €950 photographs and Garda card, but still waiting for affidavit since. Is anyone else waiting same time.

It looks like around 500 Certificates were signed and are sent by post. Some people might receive it this week. I am hoping to be one of those ))

New to the forum guys. Great to see people’s getting certificates this week! I applied in July 2019 and got approval late January 2020 and paid fees in first week of February 2020 ..still waiting on an email myself and really hoping it comes soon. Can’t even remember if I gave them an email in my application 😅 hopefully I did and will be in next batch of affidavits sent whenever that is 🤞🏼

Just reach out with your email and your application number. It’s always better to keep pushing them instead of leaving them to contact you.

I emailed and below is the reply, so fingers crossed I hear something soon 😊

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your email.

The Minister for Justice, announced that a temporary
system is in place that will enable citizenship applicants to complete
their naturalisation process by signing a statutory declaration of loyalty
to the state. This signed statutory declaration replaces the requirement
for citizenship applicants to attend citizenship ceremonies, which have
been temporarily suspended during COVID-19.

The new system is in place since Monday, 18 January 2021, There is no
requirement for applicants for citizenship to contact the unit. Under the
temporary new system, qualifying applicants will be contacted by the
Citizenship division on a phase basis over the next few months. Qualifying
applicants will be asked to complete a statutory declaration that will be
sent to them by email from the Citizenship Division

Qualifying applicants will be required to complete the statutory
declaration in the presence of a witness who is either a notary public,
commissioner for oaths, solicitor, or a peace commissioner, and authorised
to take and receive statutory declarations. The Witness must be resident in
the State and the Declaration must be administered / witnessed in the
State.

Once completed the applicant must then send the signed statutory
declaration, the appropriate fee and any other requested documentation to
the dedicated postal address as instructed in the e-mail on or before the
30 May 2021

It will take up to 6 weeks from receipt of the above documents to issue a
Certificate of Naturalisation if all of the above is in order. Therefore it
would greatly assist us if you only contact us, after the 6 week period has
elapsed and then only if it is absolutely necessary, as this will allow us
to devote the maximum time to the processing of applications.

Please be aware that emails are continuing to issue to qualifying
applicants on a phase basis over the next few months. You should receive
yours in due course.

Regards

Got my certificate this morning! Yay! Only negative is unfortunately they didn't put "do not bend" on the envelope so unfortunately the postman bent it slightly into the letterbox, so my certificate has a big crease down it :( Not the end of the world obviously, but a little bit annoying.

Just so pleased its all finally done.

No. Only approved applicants will receive that.
You should check with ISD to see if your application has been submitted to the minister.
