Employment is not a requirement for naturalisation, just declare periods of unemployment as applicable - you don't have to justify that.
Where dates are asked for and you don't have it precisely use the nearest estimate - month/year is ok.
Doesn't this contradict the capacity which you're in the UK as (worker, self-sufficient, student, etc.)? Or for short period of times, it is considered to be okay?
Being in employment at present or in the past is not a mandatory requirement for citizenship.
Many who applied have been on dependent visas and never worked in the UK and had success.
Ah I see. Just to understand this though, for EEA nationals who do not obtain visas, what does it mean? Can they still declare that they are in the UK as workers?
There are additional evidence requirements for EU citizens and family when applying for citizenship, depending on their circumstances, to prove residence for the whole 5 years.

No need. It is not a point that will result in a refusal.

Hi Everyone,
I have my appointment for Biometrics tomorrow and had purchased the document checking service for what I had uploaded.
It was all fine except for they said in the mandatory section below was missing
If applicant spent the 3 or 5 year qualifying residence period in UK as a student or as a self-sufficient person, and had comprehensive sickness insurance (CSI), a copy of their sickness insurance policy is required to be uploaded to 'Other' category.
I have never been in the UK as student or self-sufficient person. Why would this be mandatory for me? Is there anything I have completed wrong in the online form? Or is this just something I can ignore?
Thanks again for your help!

You can ignore this - it says "if applicant ... " so not applicable to you as you don't fall into those categories.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

I need clarification regarding the question below if possible:
Have you had any other work over the past 10 years or since you came to the UK?
I am working as an employee in a company and in the same time I am still a director of another company, I know I have to put them both but the online form additional work section comes with only start and END date which I don't have as I am still currently a director.
Can the moderators please help?
Thank you in advance.

You only need need one professional referee. Your professional referee doesn't have to British. Your British citizen referee doesn't have to be employed or have a profession.

Thanks CR001...
What I'm trying to ask really is, from the whole list of people they have, they don't say about anyone being owner of entrepreneur, just things like solicitor etc, so can I use someone who runs a business? The person is the owner and director of this company. Would that work?

Read the list again. It clearly states director of a company.

You can add an explanatory note regarding your circumstances, and upload as part of your documents.

Hello
I hope everyone is safe and well.
Please can someone help me with the proof of continuous residence in the UK for 5 years. I got my ILR 13 months ago and been working at the same firm for 7 years. Every time I go abroad, I come back to the UK and the border agency stamps my passport at immigration.
What else can I provide for proof residency:
- Letter from employer confirming employment
- Payslips for 5 years
- Mortgage agreement for 3 years and tenancy agreements for 2 years
- Bank statements
Thank you for your help.

You only need your passports. None of the other documents are required.

Thank you for your quick reply! Just to clarify, my previous passport that shows my first ever entry to the UK and my 2015 stamps has expired. Would it be okay to submit that?

Hi
Thank you for your advice.
I have a few more questions:
- under employment history, should I disclose an 8 week internship I did in 2012 whilst I was studying towards my undergrad degree?
- under any other information to add, would it be useful to disclose that I own the property I reside in in? Just wondering if that would be helpful at all to show my long term goal is to stay in the UK?
Thank you again.

1. All employed, paid or unpaid.
2. Owning a property is irrelevant. Many people who don't have the right to live in the UK own properties.

Hello
I have one more question. For my ILR application, I had to provide my travel history which my employer had to confirm via a letter. Do I need to do the same for all absences in the past 5 years?
Thank you

You simply need to complete all your absences in the form as stated. No letter required.

Hi,
I'm currently in the process of applying for naturalisation and I have a question regarding the documents I need to provide. I'm in the UK since 2011 and I have changed my last name in 2012 (parents got married) and was wondering what I need to provide as evidence for this? Or if I need anything at all because it has been more than 5 years ago?
I have been issued with a new birth certificate(in German), dated 2012. Would that be sufficient?
Thanks
