Hi LZ_90,
Thanks for the update.
May I ask where you received the verified news prior to ringing home office?

Hi LZ_90,
I applied April 27.vijayswami wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 11:29 amHi Team
Whoever has applied in the month of April / May and have received the "re-use" biometric, can you pls check whether the appointment can be booked from UKVCAS site?
Even my friend is enquiring on it, as some of his friends got the option to book the appointment.
I am cross-checking too...

Really important to note that the call centre is an outsourced third parry agency, run and manned by Sitel, and not UKVI staff. They only give out generic info, often flawed and incorrect.LZ_90 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 12:58 pmChinese nationals are informed that they’re able to book superiority service for their uk visa application (from overseas) but it’s provided by Vfs - a different company. I start hoping that home office gave me the wrong info - they always do give contradictory info

Decision on application from overseas are made by UK embassy not home office here i'd thought? So perhaps UK embassy in China has reinstated priority service to process application, not quite same can be applied with Home office here I guess...LZ_90 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 12:58 pmChinese nationals are informed that they’re able to book superiority service for their uk visa application (from overseas) but it’s provided by Vfs - a different company. When I applied my student visa in Beijing I paid the Priority Service fee during the Biometric appointment with VFS in order to get a decision in 10 days. They charged the Priority Service fee on behalf of the British Embassy in China. The Home Office and embassies might share the same application system but the decisions will be made by the oversea Embassies.SUMMER92 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 1:09 pmDecision on application from overseas are made by UK embassy not home office here i'd thought? just recieved an emai from UKVCAS,
We recently wrote to tell you that UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) is changing the way it processes applications in response to COVID-19.
UKVI previously identified that you were eligible for their biometric reuse policy. This meant you would be able to use the new digital approach to verify for your identity. As a result, you were not asked to book an appointment at a UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) Service Point.
Further analysis by UKVI has shown that you will NOT be able to use the new digital biometric reuse approach. This means that you will need to book an appointment at a UKVCAS Service Point.
Please be reassured that your immigration status remains unaffected whilst your application is in progress.
Bit wiered, looks like they are changing their minds..Thats the reason i am able to see appointments.
Let me know if anyone you recieve something like this!
Thanks
