So i submitted Tier2 extension standard application last week, and included return post envelope with my documents. Today i received the confirmation letter with all my supporting documents back (including passport + old BRP). Letter says: Thank you for your supporting evidence. This is to confirm your documents have been received. Your application is with UKVI for consideration.

This would be helpful for people who need their passport and BRP (if still valid) meanwhile waiting for application. However, you CAN NOT TRAVEL until you get decision on your application.
