Update: 5th August
It has been 7 working days since my biometrics and I haven’t received any update (no decision email/letter). I’ve phoned UKVI. Once it is past the standard service time (5 days for super priority) they can take your information and pass it onto the Home Office. They said the HO should get back to me by phone or email within 5 wworking days from now.

Type of application: Extending
Date of expiry of current leave: 30/09/2019
Number of dependants applying at same time: 1
Date of biometrics enrolment: 4/07/2019
Date of approval:27/09/2019
Date (new) leave to remain valid from: 27/08/2019
Date BRP received: 02/09/2019

We received approval email on 27/09/2019 - there was no letter through the post (just the email) and we then received the BRP. It arrived 19:57 and we did not have to sign for it.
