I applied same date as you...2nd April...no letter as of yet! Hang in there...A A Butt wrote:Hi,
Does any body has a letter from HMPO who applied in the month of april 2014 ? I have applied on 02 April just after naturalisation with my family but nothing comes up yet little worried because I have booked travel in half term holidays.
I wish I had time and guide with me to show the referencehumanvoid wrote: I would have shown guide page with documents required without arguing. And if even this would not have worked out, I'd just leave for another post office.

I suggest to all of you having faced ILR Card issue to make formal complaint against the post office Ltd staff concerned. Post office Ltd must not keep sub standard employees,it affects the standard of service we pay for.humanvoid wrote:I would have shown guide page with documents required without arguing. Lady at the post office insisted that I have to send my ILR BRP card or she won't accept my application... I know this sounds crazy but I explained her that there is no point of me sending the BRP card as I am sending my ORIGINAL Naturalization certificate. Since this discussion was getting into an argument, I sent my ILR BRP card.
Problem with the Check and Send service is that the people checking your application doesn't know much and just think as though they are working for HMPO. I know it's mental. Just absolutely MENTAL!!!

I think it is true that people at the post office simply do not know the check and send procedure occasionally - I was told that I cannot apply for the Jumbo passport on a first adult passport application - Is this the case?man4uni wrote:I did use the Check and Send service at Uxbridge Post Office and guess what ? Do we need to send our ILR Biometric card with our non UK passport while applying for British Passport?
Thanks

That is what I tried to convey to the person and was adamant that the Jumbo passport option is selected. The person told me that I will have to wait and see what happens.saayinla wrote:Absolutely rubbish. yes you can!NOG wrote: I think it is true that people at the post office simply do not know the check and send procedure occasionally - I was told that I cannot apply for the Jumbo passport on a first adult passport application - Is this the case?
jessnst wrote:Am getting worried as I haven't heard back re my application. Have called several times to enquire about it, and all they can tell me is that the application is with the examiners. A gentleman told me that if I haven't heard back, then all is in order and it should be with me in 6 weeks. I need to travel 1 May, and really need my passport back before then. 6 weeks will be up 23 April and would be great if I get back my supporting documents by then, but worried if I don't.Especially as I have not received any communications including need for an interview. Another shout out to anyone who has applied first time from abroad and can share their experience please?

Update: called on 3 April to enquire, as am planning local travel and wanted to plan around my interview dates. I was told that they can only tell that it is with the examiners in Liverpool office, and not sure how long it would take. I need my original passport back before 1 May.
Has anyone else applied for first passport whilst abroad? How long did it take you to get the first interview and subsequently to get the passport if you pass the interview?
