You cannot avoid the fee. Her visa is based on what your CoS and visa duration is, as your CoS is a 5 year one, you have to apply stating this.

Thank you.

So you mean even after 24th dec 2018 If i apply - I need to mention my length of COS as 3 years or Over. Its not the remaining days in my COS.

Regardless of when you apply for the dependent, YES, you have to mention the duration of your CoS and NOT the remaining days on your visa/CoS.

Thanks once again for the quick reply.

Thats very sad. :(. even if apply dependant visa clearly knowing its going to be less than 3 years validity based on my visa expiry date, still I need to pay for 5 years Visa fees.

It just misleads me as few already mentioned i can go with less than 3 years options. Can you please confirm that i need to always choose 3 years over for my COS length as its processed for 5 years?

It means that dependents can not be processed for 3 years or less until the main applicant COS is processed for 3 years or less :(

we are in the situation that I have only 2 years left in my visa but becas my COS initially processed for 5 years, i need to process 5 years visa for my dependent even though he gets only 2 years as per my validity.
