How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

I was just starting to enjoy life without the tracker but the blasted thing is working again.
No change in our status, ie “Processing”. Estimated issue date is next Thursday. Sigh.

I know right? Next Thursday is almost here.
I have to wait until 4th November. Hopefully, this arduous process will be over for us all.

I wish I shared your optimism. We’ve already had one Alert after our status changed to Printing and I wouldn’t put it past them to send us another one.

That's frustrating. Even from the naturalization ceremony to the cert, I was at my wits' end with them. So, I'm at a point where I'm squeezing out the tiniest bit of optimism I have left for the passport since I've been disappointed too many times. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they won't request further documents from you or any of us still waiting.

I’ll let you know if anything changes for us this week. I naively thought that sending the second ID would not totally restart the clock and that things would move quicker than before the first Alert. But we’ve almost reached the second Estimated Issue Date.

I assumed all of us had been asked for a 2nd photo ID but Leo on another thread has just told him he was only asked to submit one ID. Weirder and weirder!

Yes, I've got the passport and the 2nd batch document back. Finally this has come to an end now and move on with my life.

My wife got her passport on Thursday and we've immediately gone on the overnight ferry to France for half-term. It makes life so much easier with an EU passport.Hopefully you will get the passport soon Helen.

Hey all, just wondering if anyone has experience with giving something else that isn't your actual passport such as a certified copy?

I travel for work every few days to Europe and not having my passport for an indeterminate time frame isn't really viable for me.

My application was successful and I already received the passport book and card a few days ago (it took exactly 1 month). Yay!

However, the passport tracking website doesn't provide a tracking code for the supporting documents.

Do they send this back over registered post (I hope)? I really hope to get my docs soon, if not, it's going to be a kafkian nightmare if they get lost in the post and I have to renew my origin country passport, birth certificate, PSC, driver's license, etc (I sent everything in original as it's required but also to avoid back and forth on my application).

They do send them back by reg post, but they don't post the tracking number. I got my docs back a bit before the passport itself; experience may vary. Wait for a week or so, reach out to DFA agent if still no docs.
