Date if ilr is from the date of approval or ilr issue date. It is NOT from the application date.jivda wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 4:50 pmHi,
I'm not sure where to post this but it's somewhat relevant to COVID-19 and biometrics.
I'm waiting for UKVCAS to open appointments (applied just after they closed their centres), but I was wondering when I get ILR what date is it valid from? I'm wanting to get citizenship and a British passport and want to know if I have to wait a year from when I receive my BRP card or if it happens to start on the application date (ie I could apply for citizenship in April 2021).
Thanks
You need full 12 months after ILR approval date/ILR BRP date if you have to apply in your own right and NOT married to a BC.jivda wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 4:50 pmHi,

If you are not married to a British citizen, you have to wait the full 12 months on ikr before you can apply for citizenship. This applies to all ILR routes.Freetownean2 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 7:41 pmHi, can you explain this to us properly please ''if you have to apply in your own right and NOT married to a BC.''
Does this means after ILR one has to wait for another 12 months before applying for naturalisation? Does this refers to all ILR categories?
Yes we received email today and we booked for 3rd July for free (we had registered and submitted our application on 26th March). There were lots of £220 appointments available from next week. Earliest free appointment was 2nd July, each day had one-two free appointment and so many £220 appointments.raj_262920 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 4:13 pmHi

UKVCAS offer both paid and free appointments. From 22nd June they will revert back to the normal paid appointments also. Most likely, paid appointments will be earlier dates. Note do not confuse UKVI super priority with UKVCAS paid appointments. UKVCAS paid appointments are just to submit biometrics for example more expensive appointments slots on weekends or next day slots etc.Paul99 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 10:09 pmhey ,What is £220 Appointment's means ? In normal days the price of paid appointments varied between different centres. For example more for premium lounge and lesser for enhanced centres.Paul99 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 10:25 pmOKAY ..I see ,So if some is booking Super priority service they have to book £800 +£220 to get earlier slots ..However priority is not open yet but In normal days ..CULLINAN wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 10:19 pmUKVCAS offer both paid and free appointments. Good to know this .
Thank you, Nilang.
As far as I know, UKVCAS has never limited account creation. Only appointments remain unavailableCULLINAN wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 2:20 amJust to update: I have applied for my naturalisation application today 22/6. As expected, I am unable to book a biometrics appointment for now. Lets see when UKVCAS allows me to do that. The UKVCAS email received states they are giving preference to the ones before the suspension of the service. However, it allowed me to register the account on UKVCAS and upload documents as normal.
Will update once I will be able to book an appointment.
Correct but mentioned that to give a clearer picture as some were unclear about it.Zimba wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 2:58 amAs far as I know, UKVCAS has never limited account creation. Again another 3 months backlog(june -sept) will Join -This will never end .pinku09 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 8:54 ami can only assume based on the order of registrations. You may have to wait until they give a chance for people that registered in the last week of March, entire month of April & May before they come to June. My assumption is this could take a month or two atleast before they clear all backlogs. By September / October things should get back to normal.
Have you submited or wating to resume normal like me ?VikasMandal wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 9:18 amConsidering april and may appointments were cleared (atleast giving appointments) in 22 days starting from 1st June.
With more new centres opening in coming weeks I am assuming that by end of July atleast giving appointments backlog will be cleared.
By Mid Aug or Aug end things should be back to normal.
This is just based on my assumption considering the way they have worked since 1st June till 22nd June
Sorry how did you guys register with UKVCAS on april, did they not close the priority / super priority service by end of march i.e. when the lock-down started ? is it possible to register now ?Paul99 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 8:50 pmsame boatgc362952246 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 8:47 pmRegisteredPaul99 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 8:36 pmRegister or submitted?gc362952246 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 8:32 pmI registered on 13th of April.![]()
