U.K hone office usually start their holiday few days to Christmas and resume back 2nd of January. Though is only those bank holidays (25th, 26th Dec and 1st of January) that will be counted as bank holiday, but normally the office will be closed, there wont be any treated case during those holiday

Same day he received an email stating prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer.
It will be 7 weeks this Friday and nothing yet.
