British Citizenship - New Online Application

Does anyone know if we can still submit JCAP with NDRS following the recent changes in the Service centers and the UKVCAS ?

I had proactively set up a 14th November NDRS appointment for myself last month. I wanted to be sure I get a date within 10 days of submitting my online application.

But now, it seems like the only 2 options are either post office ("existing way" as referred to by HO) or Sopra Steria ("new way"). There is no mention of being able to use NDRS any longer. Or the mention of JCAP.

Does anyone know if NDRS can still be used? Perhaps, someone who has already filled a citizenship application online recently will be able to share what choices were given in the old form when it got to the Declaration, Pay steps of the application.

According to HO you can use existing method(s) until 29 November (see link below). You are lucky to have the NDRS appointment (smart move), because most local authorities are not accepting new bookings for NDRS. If in any doubt I suggest you call your local authority and seek their advice. And ask about JCAP too, because once Sopra Steria takes over in toto it seems JCAP is no more

I am currently a director at 4 companies but only drawing a salary from 1. However, I can only enter 1 current employment. What should I do? Since technically non of the other 3 directorships fall under "previous employments"

I've just check my online application which still not due to submit yet, but i noticed there is new service called UKVI's it's start few days ago but there is not enough information for naturalization application and which service they can use, anybody have an idea if will be a premier service available for naturalization?

In the NDRS online application form, as well as in the passport application form, I am required to write the full names of both my parents. Would it be useful to also submit copies of their passports in the appointement?

If it matters, the reason I ask is that one of the companies I am a director of is what I used to obtain Tier 1 entrepreneur visa however I do not draw a salary from that company currently.

Is it OK if I go on a holiday during the Christmas break? would there be a problem if a decision is made while I am away?

You are free to travel. Thers is no requirement that you must not leave the UK.

I thought of a scenario where on the way back to the UK, my name shows on the screen for the person at the immigration desk as British citizen, while I'm entering in the UK with another passport + an ILR? that's the only thing I was concerned about.

You are ONLY British once you have attended your citizenship ceremony, not from date of approval letter!!!

In my case on January 8 2019 it's exactly 12 months since I got my ILR and I've been in the UK on that day 5 years ago. The new service shows that I need to book an appointment within 5 days of submission. So can I submit my application earlier than 8 January 2019?

2- In the form it asks: When did you first arrive in the UK? I got ILR on 8/01/2018 on 5 years rout. I first entered the UK to study on 25 August 2008 but went back home and then back to UK on 9 January 2009 to study at a different university as the first one didn't work for me, at that time you didn't need to get a new visa if you change university.

It is all in the guidance notes. Date of Submission of Application is Date of Application and you have to have held ILR for at LEAST 12 months counting back from the Date of Submission.

It doesn't as advised, it is a generic statement and Nationality and Immigration Law totally separate.

The statement

If the decision is made while you are outside the UK and your current leave has expired

refers to "current leave has expired" and settled status does not expire and can only be cancelled if you away for 2 years.

The only risk whilst awaiting a decision is not picking up any possible mail and not responding within any deadlines IF applicable or necessary and isn't there a deadline to submit documents by 5 days or so at a "new centre" I thought I had read and you get them back on the new process?

I'm really not sure how people can be so confident to state this doesn't apply to citizenship applications. I wish they were right, but when I called the HO (I also have tickets home for Christmas), they said it's a new system so even though I have PR, they can't give me a definite answer and I should try calling them again maybe next week when they might know the answer to this. So until the HO can give you a definite yes or no, I wouldn't risk it just because someone in this forum said you're ok to travel (as knowledgable as I'm sure they are and please don't take this as an offence, whoever claimed this, it's just not very reassuring when the HO can't tell you for sure!)
