My case: I entered UK under Tier 2 ICT visa category. Then moved to Tier 2 ICT dependent (using my spouse's ICT visa) and served cooling off period of 12 months. I checked with UK home office and was told that I am not eligible to apply in country since my visa expires on Sep 11th. So I travelled to India on Aug 1st week to file in Bangalore office.

Note: I've sent a paid email today to the UKVI (26 of November) asking for updates because I didn't even receive an email saying the case was assigned by the HO. They replied with the standard:
