Biometrics given from home country, do we need to give again

Post by tot » Mon Apr 09, 2012 2:10 pm

Hi everyone,

Myself & my spouse had entered UK in 2010 & we had a child born in UK.

When we applied for a Tier-1 from home country in July 2010, we had given our biometrics (fingers & head scan). But we were never given any sort of card or any document based on biometric scans.

Now having spend more than 1 yr in UK, we are planning for an extension by booking an appointment, but was :

1. ...wondering if we need to again provide our biometrics being in UK as we had already done so in home country before entering UK....
and

2. ....that whether if our 1.5 yrs child will need to go through biometric, shall we just need to book an appointment for the child only, accompanied by both parent?

It would be great if someone could shed some light on this.
Thanks in advance...

Cheers,
tot

1. you need to give your biometrics again. this is standard practice. as a check that the same person is applying for extension. they will match your biometrics to the one you gave earlier

Thanks that surely helps. :)

This may sound noobish..but was wondering whether I need to book separate appointments for Extension & biometric purposes?

Thanks again.

If you are appearing at PEO than you will have your biometrics will be taken the the same day. If this is postal application, than yes, you will need to attend for your biometrics separately
