Dear forum,
First of all many thanks for looking at my query - it is greatly appreciated.
I am a Sri Lankan national and currently have ILR in the UK (from March 2011) and hence am eligible to apply for naturalisation. I was permanently employed from March 2006 to December 2011, at which point I resigned from permanent employment and started working as a contractor through my own Limited Company (of which I'm the sole Director).
Section 3 of the AN application form states that applicants who do not pay their taxes through PAYE would need to submit an HMRC Self Assessment Statement of Account. I would fall into this category from January 2012, however I would not have a Self Assessment Statement of Tax to submit as requested as I've just started my company i.e. as my first tax return is due ca. Jan 2013.
I can furnish with the application my Business Bank Account statements, HMRC registration documents, and if necessary a letter from my Accountant certifying that I'm registered for corporation tax and VAT. Please could any forum member with relevant experience advise me if this is acceptable? Is there anything else that I can submit to prove I'm compliant with company tax legislation in lieu of an HMRC Tax Statement?
Many thanks in advance for any words of advice.
