TIER 2- urgent help please

Hello,

I am currenlty on PSW and working as web developer with my current employer since August 2011. I have completed my probation period end of January2012. My salary is £21000. My visa is going to expire end of July. I have spoken to my employer for sponsorship.


They said that your job does not meet the salary criteria becuase the minimum salary for webdeveloper is £26000 in shortage occupation list.

My question is;

Isnt the minimum salary requirement 20k? is there any other way or point where I can convince them?

Please advice.

the minimum requirement is 20k or the appropriate rate for your job, whichever is the higher, so if the minimum pay for your job is £26k, and you only earn £21k, then you won't meet the requirements.

i thought that if you have worked there for 6monrths under psw, then 20k is fine or has it now changed?

Yes Katie thats what I thought. But my employer said that it has to meet the minimum salary for the specific job role as mentioned in Shoratage Occupation list.[/code][/quote]
