we are still waiting for citizenship for last 1 year

my brother had applied through lawyer in may 2011 for citizenship its due in Nov 2011 after six months but HO didn't reply yet one year has gone .....we are very worried.

You should contact MP of your area and ask him/her to write to HO regarding your case. This may speed up processing on your brother's case

Surely step 1 is to speak to HO for an update and then post what they say.

Given you've paid money for the help of a solicitor then step 2 is to speak to them with the feedback from HO and ask for their advice.
