Expired Travel Document replacement

I've sent my application for expired Travel Document replacement on the 21st of April 2012.

I understand that applications suppose to be considered in several month, but my current job responsibility is to travel abroad to negotiate with foreign customers.
I couldn't do my job, so I am about to lose it.

Could somebody advise me what should do I travel abroad while my new Travel Document is not issued?
P.S. UKBA phone numbers are not helping at all.
