Tier 1 Dependents NOC or Resignation letter required?

Post by kunalgujar » Wed Apr 11, 2012 8:02 pm

Two questions, possibly these have been repeated but could not find the correct answer to these. Please point me in any case.

1. If the dependent is working in India when we apply for her visa, do we need a no objection certificate or resignation letter from the dependents company when we apply for the visa.
The online form which we now fill up does ask for details as if whether the dependent is currently working.

2. Can I apply for the dependent visa 6 months before my dependent flies down to UK? So if we apply for her Tier 1 Dependent Visa say in June this year she can fly in January next year. So she will be working in India during this duration till December. We would have done a court marriage in June, so we should be in a state to apply for her Tier 1 Dependent Visa.

This is most appreciated.

1) no letter is required from current employer, just mention if working or not at the time of application

2) can come to UK anytime after leave is granted

Thanks Manka for this information. Greatly appreciate this.

The reason for asking this question was that I am aware that with the guys who are on company sponsored visas (Tier 2), their partners need a 'no objection' from their company (if working). Hence thought if this case was the same for a Tier 1 dependent.
