Does Police Caution Affect ILR?

My wife reported to police for false common assault. Police gave me a caution for (common assault) would it affect my application for ILR.

I will be applying for my ILR in February 2013;

Will this affect the ILR application and must be declared it in the form when filing out form?

Anyone had the same case and got ILR?

As far as my understanding is, ILR applications can be rejected (depends on case worker) if applicant has been convicted before for instance receiving fine/points for breaking speed limits is conviction.

Is receiving warning for common assault (wrong or right) treated as conviction?

I am sure seniors can comment more on that....

Caution is not the same as Conviction.
