maintenance funds for family

Post by dalia » Thu Apr 12, 2012 7:55 pm

hello there.
my husband is studying in university of manchester and he already has a tier 4 visa that expires next year. however, me and my two children are applying as dependants and we are presenting my husband account and my overseas account. my question is:
1- do we have to show maintenance funds for the four of us ( including my husband who already has a visa) or we need to show maintenance funds for the three of us?
2- are they going to add the sum of funds in my husband account and the funds in my account to calculate the required funds for the three of us or they are going to use my account to calculate the required fuds for me ?
your urgent response is appreciated.
Thanks.

1) Only for the 3 applicants
2) They should consider the aggregate sum of both accounts (as both are valid for this purpose) assuming there is no dip in funds during the required period, but there have been refusals in similar circumstances so, for the avoidance of doubt, it would be best to signpost the fact that you are using both accounts to meet the aggregate total
