UK visitor wanting to apply for a Schegen visa

Post by kbrako » Thu Apr 12, 2012 9:21 pm

I came to UK on a visit visa and had it extended at the home office. I was given a resident permit for 6 months though not entitled to work.

I have to travel to Spain while here in the UK and would like to know if I am able to apply for a Schengen visa here in the UK.

What type of residence permit did the UK issue you?

Do you know what the basis for it is? Is it to be with spouse, etc, etc?

In general, you need to apply for Shengen zone where you live (not come to visit).

it is to visit friends. Can I assume I live here now because of the resident permit granted by the home office?

If it is a visitors visa, it may not allow you. Why don't you phone or email the embassy of the country you wish to visit?
