ILR for my wife

Post by chakky80 » Fri Apr 13, 2012 7:49 pm

Hi,

I currently hold a ILR and my application for British Citizenship is under consideration (its already 10 weeks should get the decision soon)..

My wife came in to this country in February 2010 as a Work Permit depandant and she switched into Tier 1 dependant in June 2010 as my status was changed.. when i aplied for ILR in jan 2011 HO said that she cannot apply along with me as she lived in the UK for less than 2 years, now she completed her 2 years term as a depandant..

Now wondering if she can apply for ILR? or can she go for British Citizenship straight way if my application is successfull??

Sorry for the lengthy post, but appriciate if anyone make any suggestions!

Thanks

After you got your ILR, did she use form FLR(M) to apply for a 2-year spouse visa?

Hi John,

No she didn't apply FLR(M) after i got my ILR, but she got tier1 dependent visa valid till July this year... is it really mandatory to apply FLR (M) before she can go for ILR? or can she go for ILR straight way as she was here in this country for more than 2 years? appreciate your reply..

Thanks
