What if I need original documents for new job or house?

Post by skippyzippy » Sat Apr 14, 2012 11:28 am

Morning everyone,

I sent UKBA my FLRM application two weeks ago and now waiting for the confirmation letter from them. They took out the fees out of my bank last week. I am in the process of moving house and the estate agent will require some proof of ID. How could I prove this whilst my things are still with UKBA? I know there must be some ways of doing this, I just don't know how so perhaps someone could help me please?

I have also been invited to attend an interview in the next two weeks and they require me to send some proof of ID too.

Hope someone could help me, thanks for reading this.

For the estate agent:

Photocard driving license
Bank statements
Credit Card Statements
HMRC letters
NI letter

All those should be acceptable.

For the interview (which is a job interview I assume and thus needing evidence of legality to work in the UK):

Photocopy of passport
Letter from UKBA confirming your application

It might not be sufficient for the company - so you may have to ask what would be acceptable given the circumstances and, at worst, give up the job until the application is returned.

Thank you M. Yes the interview is for the job interview. Thank you for the suggestions, I hope life won't be on pause just because of an application to renew the visa. Thanks again.
