Spouse's settlement visa

Post by lizzykeli » Sun Apr 15, 2012 12:16 am

I have been reading this forum and has found useful information for applying spouse visa. We are in the process of filling the application form for my husband visa to settle in the UK.
I work full time and has enough earning to support him. He is self empolyed owning a shop in Africa (Tanzania). I intend to support him until he find a suitable job. We find as towhat we should say in the application form re- Do you intend to work in the UK.

We are not sure what will happen afterwards may be leave it with someone for sometime and see. But i find it difficult to say on what he does and what he will do when he comes here. Supposed he still holds the business does that affect his commitment to settle in the UK.

Anyone who worked (employment or self-employment) before moving to UK has to give it up ... else, how will he / she move to UK to "settle there".

Sorry that was not intentional, just new to the board couldnt see my first post. Thanks for the contribution. I figured so but he cant give up whatever he is doing until the visa. That is why it is a bit tricky, to say you will give up after the visa, or in the process of giving up,

Imagine someone employed. Would he / she resign from job without knowing for sure whether he/she will be granted a visa.
Imagine some self-employed. Would someone sell of his business without knowing for sure whether he /she will be granted visa.

Where does it say that the applicant is required to share his intentions regarding what he/she will do about his employment / self-employment if visa is granted. This is amongst those issues that don't need to be stated explicitly in order to be understood.
