Better to post EU related questions in the dedicated EEA route forum.

What type of permit do you hold? Is it a EEA Family Permit obtained outside the UK or a 5 years Residence Card obtained within the UK?

EEA based Residence documentation can't be extended but you can apply for a new one. Applications are free.

You can extend as often as you wish but if you have already made five years and meet the criteria for permanent residence, it would be better to make this application instead, and put an end to the need to extend.
