Family or visitor visa for April - My HSMP expiring in May

Hi There,
Thanks for your time for reading through my case

I am presently on Tier 1 General which is supposed to expire on May 4th 2013, but i am planning to extend the same with my dependent husband.

My question here is - I would like to invite my parents in April 2013. Will they get extension based on my visa which is expiring on May 4th 2013?
I will be showing my bank statement and i will sponsor for there trip, showing my one bed house as a place to stay.
Is it good to apply as Family visa or Visitor visa ?
Is it safe if i show my bank statements, house contract etc?
What kind of doc's would my parents have to show ?

It would be of great help if you could advise me the same.
