Tier 1 PSW to Tier 4 student visa

Dear all,

I am currently on a Tier 1 PSW visa and I have 2 Dependants (Wife and son). I already done a Masters degree and now considering studying for my PhD.

I intend to apply for a Tier 4 student visa before August and would like to know if my Dependants have to leave the UK to apply as dependants or can apply from within the UK as Tier 4 Dependants when i switch the visa.

If they can apply as Tier 4 Dependants from within the UK, MUST we all submit our applications together or they could submit after I have been granted the Tier 4 student visa?
