Previous earnings including overtime and Overseas income

Post by kingbobby57 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 4:19 pm

Dear All,

Will be applying my extension in the first week of May,
The question is regarding the Previous earnings.

Will reach the mark of £29000 if I add my overtime earnings as well.
1. My overtime pay is shown in my payslip as well and it is taxed in last month and also will be this month.

Q: Do I need to mention in my cover letter separately about my overtime earnings? or just Payslip with Bank statement will do.
Do I need to get any letters from my employer too regarding the overtime?

Q: I am showing my overseas earnings as well for my extension. As per the rule, uplift ratio will not be applicable when applying for an extension.
Hence, If I enter the details in calculator, it applies uplift ration,

Can I just select the BAND from the calculation and mention this in the cover letter? Please let me know which is a better option. Confused on the same.

Q: I will be submitting only PAYSLIP and the respective bank statements for the proofs. Is there any other documents you guys suggest?

overtime earnings can be included. mention in the cover letter that this was part of contractual obligation. no need of letter from employer about overtime but if it is simple to get then do so. don't forget to get employer to write that overtime pay is part of contractual obligation

its okay to just convert ur overseas earnings into GBP and enter it in the calculator. or you could simply select the band.

payslips and bank statements are fine because they are from two separate sources

Thank you for the reply sts96508:

I would mention this in my cover letter about the contractual obligation. If I were to get the letter from the employer, then do I need to get all the salary details as well or just mention about the overtime amount paid.

For ex: Salary+overtime = Gross, this much details is better or just a letter stating that overtime is paid.

If I get the letter from employer here, as I am showing the overseas earning as well, I cant get a employer letter from INDIA. So is it OK to show one employer letter with all the details and not submitting the old employer letter which I dont have.

Your inputs are highly appreciated..

frankly, i wouldn't bother about any letter about overtime, just mention in cover letter.

its okay if you choose to get a letter from employer. and its fine if your India employer cannot give you an earnings letter. its not needed. payslips and letter from employer are from same source so both are not needed

if i were getting a letter from my uk employer then i would just ask that they mention that overtime is part of remuneration package and appears as 'so and so' in payslip.
